One of the greatest, most infuential film directors in cinema, though probably most famous for his westerns. His record of four Academy Awards for Best Director is unmatched. His influence stretched from Sergio Leone and Sam Peckinpah, to Orsen Welles, Akira Kurosawa and Martin Scorsese.
