They will get there soon, I have some pending that are older than 6 weeks.
Just keep reviewing and voting

Posted - 08/25/2004 : 22:09:31 I do try to review movies I've just seen, and I chase accolades too. It's rare for me to submit more than one review per film, but sometimes I do. Most of the other films I've reviewed are randomly selected from the "What Film?" balloon -- just so long as I've seen it or somehow "get" it, and then can come up with a good idea. Of my nearly 600 published reviews, no more than five were done first, before finding an appropriate movie. It's just not how my mind works. I don't much have the capacity -- usually -- to come up with these convoluted puns which seem to be all the rage lately.
My pending list peaked at 200. Not that many now. But even with that many pending, I regularly notice others zooming up the "charts" much faster than I do. It's partly because, as I've said, I tend not to do multiple reviews [that's helped other reviewers greatly of late]; partly because I only add new films to the site [another effective way to go to the top of the list] when I've actually just seen them; and partly because my batting average waxes and wanes, just like a hitter in baseball: sometimes I simply give Benj lousy submissions.
I tried very hard to publish an "I see..." pun which I rather liked, but Benj nixed it every time, even when I changed the film, which makes me suspect the identical review is somewhere else on the site -- I just haven't stumbled upon it.

Posted - 08/25/2004 : 17:44:11 I have just over a hundred. I peaked a few weeks ago with nearly 150.
I noticed that benj was very busy over the weekend. Between Thursday and Sunday, several hundred reviews were approved. Only a couple were mine, but I suppose he'll get to the rest eventually.

Posted - 08/25/2004 : 15:12:56 Mine has 56 at the moment which is about a hundred less than last month. I've slowed down a lot lately, for some reason, most of the time, all I get is a blank when I try and think up new ones. I don't think 115 is bad, I wish I could come up with that many.

Posted - 08/21/2004 : 13:10:58 Cheer up LPH One way to get approved at the same rate of submission is to submit less reviews! (difficult, I know) If you're at your computer more than usual it can be hard to resist though; try passing the time by surfing for a more cool site than this one. Chances are you won't find one, and when you return you'll find some reviews approved (or rejected...). No doubt about it, though; new movies are "looked at" a lot faster, which makes a lot of sense.
The above probably doesn't help much, but I have to spend the time somehow!

Posted - 08/04/2004 : 23:44:44 I think I have more time on the computer lately than usual. I typically check this site several times a day (okay becoming and unhealthy habit perhaps) so I feel quite dejected about no reviews being accepted (or rejected for that matter). I think I'm going to try to stay off the computer for a few days or something! I did have two reviews accepted in the past 7 days, one was a movie I realized was missing from the site, the other was a "dead people" review that was plucked from near the bottom of my pending list. I can sort of gage at this point that the reviews near the top of my pending pile have been there about a month now. And yet, I always get so annoyed when anyone complains about such things, so I can only conclude that my patience isn't where it should be.

Have you been paying your membership fees?
I'm beginning to wonder if this is not really a joke!

I haven't had anything approved for almost a week but I have around 40 pending. I've noticed that the ones that were approved most recently were for movies it seemed several others had reviews for as well. Maybe the ones I have pending are not movies that anyone else is currently reviewing. I can't say Benj hasn't looked at my list at all though because although I haven't had anything approved in nearly a week I do have a couple of rejections. The one currently at the top of my pending pile has been there for 3 weeks now. Not complaining though, just passing along info.

Posted - 07/30/2004 : 06:16:44 Ditto the above 2 posts. I never try too hard to review a film, otherwise I end up with a crap review. For most of my best reviews in the last few months I've done the review before finding the film to fit.
