Posted - 05/05/2016 : 23:28:44 Although I know that we rarely discuss a documentary on here, I just have to recommend My Beautiful Broken Brain, about the stroke suffered by Lotje Sodderland and her struggle to recover. It may not appeal to you at first glance, but I think it speaks to things that we, the stroke sufferers, must face - the forgetting, the loss of our words, the ability to explain our feelings and emotions, the fearfulness, losing some relationships when they no longer "get" me, the struggle of it all. I know that in my own case, I *still* have trouble finding my words, but now they do show up eventually. And I don't really mind being more isolated. In any case, catch this if you can - it may be food for thought! |
