I can't believe we haven't tackled this beast yet.

So, start the suspenseful music for

JAWS!!!!!!!!!

Here are the rules. Stolen from someone. Thank you someone.

Abbreviated rules borrowed from here to encourage some new entrants ....

The Rules

The first line of a haiku poem has five syllables.
The second line has seven syllables.
The third, and final, line has five syllables.

The Movie Haiku Contest (MHC) is open to every member of the FWFR site.

To enter, all you have to do is think of a Haiku for the current movie, then post into the current thread. Simple as that. Also, haikus may be risque, but nothing explicit please.

Only one entry per person as per The Blevins Rule. However, you are allowed to edit your existing entry until 9pm Tuesday FWFR time. *

Voting.

If you have entered the MHC, then you have to vote. If you do not vote, you'll lose 3 points from your total. This could mean the difference between the adoration and envy of your fellow Fwiffers or being the feckless butt of our jokes!

You do not have to enter an MHC to vote. Vote away. It'll be like a lurker vote!

---------------------------------

For each round, you get to vote for your three favourite MHC. The voting is as follows:

3 pts fwfrer a
2 pts fwfr b
1 pt fwfr c
--------------------------------

You cannot vote for yourself.
You can vote for the previous winner

You vote by sending me your votes in a PM (Private Message). I'll resent it, but do it anyway.

You may vote only once.

When the voting deadline ends (9pm Wednesday 24APR FWFR time), the votes are tallied and the top three places are announced.

Votes to me, unless someone else wants to do it. I count the votes by hand.

Is it too early for Toy Story 3?

Montgomery Posted - 05/07/2007 : 18:06:23
Whoa! I won again?

Thanks everyone.

Well, let's find something really good that everyone will want to get into.
Let me think and I'll get right back to you.

Congrats Em (tinged with envy, two more second places and you would have been congratulating me!!)

Well done!!
Whippersnapper. Posted - 05/05/2007 : 14:27:42

I get all seconds?

There's something fishy about this...

Well done Em, so whatcha got for us THIS time?

As promised, the ceremony can finally take place, though for reasons we know not of, the estimed member from R o k G o 7 f cannot be present and accounted for.

So, in time-honoured reverse order may I present

In third place, with 10 votes [2,2,2,2,2] the ever-popular Whippersnapper.

In second place, with 11 votes, [3,3,3,1,1] the minimalist Beanmimo.

But the winner, and how will she ever find room on her shelf for yet another award, it's Montgomery with a whopping dozen votes [3,3,2,2,1,1]

Congratulations EM!!!

We await your next choice with haikued breath.

I just favour setting a perfectly reasonable voting deadline, leaving it for a few hours beyond the deadline so as not to be officious, and then tallying the votes.

If anyone finds this offensive I'd be very surprised indeed. Chances are that anyone who is late will be more embarrassed that they delayed others than annoyed that we didn't wait on them indefinitely.

Whoa there, tiger ... I never meant to imply that you wanted to do anything other than set a deadline. To make it crystal clear ... I don't want to offend anyone by taking a unilateral decision, so I'm soliciting other opinions than yours and mine.

See? I agree with you!

Thanks for your votes, folks!
HOWEVER
We're still waiting for R o k G o 7 f and Sludge. So get those voties in pronto, chaps! Please.

Have now PMs both late gents to remind them to send in their votes. Whipper's asking whether we should just draw a line in the sand. I don't want to offend or disenfranchise anyone ... my own feeling is to give the tardy two till tonight GMT, as I assume they both live in the US. Then I'll post the results I have when I get up in the morning.

Does anyone else have an opinion they'd like to share?

TIA

Sludge emailed to me and not sure if he considered Bife's entry.
So, Sludge, would you mind emailing your votes/new votes to Bafta?

Thanks Bafta. I'm going to send my votes to you right now.

Seeing as how I've already got a copy of the voting spreadsheet ... I don't mind at all. [and, let's face it, I never win here so it's mostly a spectator sport anyway ]

So - send your voties to me as soon as ... if ya know what's good for ya!
