Posted - 11/07/2007 : 16:36:43 He has a tough enough time keeping his girlfriend happy. Remembering Mum's birthday. And his best friend is a zombie, who then gets biten and turns into the undead.
Let's give it up for Shaun Of The Dead. (If someone can do the link thing, to imdb, please do.)
******************************** Abbreviated rules borrowed from here to encourage some new entrants ....
The Rules
The first line of a haiku poem has five syllables. The second line has seven syllables. The third, and final, line has five syllables.
The Movie Haiku Contest (MHC) is open to every member of the FWFR site.
To enter, all you have to do is think of a Haiku for the current movie, then post into the current thread. Simple as that. Also, haikus may be risque, but nothing explicit please.
Only one entry per person as per The Blevins Rule. However, you are allowed to edit your existing entry until 9pm Tuesday FWFR time. *
Voting.
If you have entered the MHC, then you have to vote. If you do not vote, you'll lose 3 points from your total, even if you are Sludge and its your birthday. This could mean the difference between the adoration and envy of your fellow Fwiffers or being the feckless butt of our jokes!
You do not have to enter an MHC to vote. Vote away. It'll be like a lurker vote!
---------------------------------
For each round, you get to vote for your three favourite haikus. The voting is as follows:
3 pts fwfr a 2 pts fwfr b 1 pt fwfr c --------------------------------
You may vote only once You cannot vote for yourself. You can vote for the previous winner
You vote by sending me your votes in a PM (Private Message) to me.
When the voting deadline ends (9pm Wednesday 7 November FWFR time), the votes are tallied and the top three places are announced.
Now, let's all meet at the pub in a few hours to enjoy a tall one with the walking dead stirring around outside.

Posted - 11/14/2007 : 20:10:47 WOW! Thanks, shuffly gang ... I was going to say I'm touched, but if you touch me I might fall off.
I'm just back from helping a local farmer pal collect some hen houses, so before I bite the heads off the chickens, gimme till tomorrow morning and I'll try to come up with a film that will make you smile and rev up your haiku hogs.
Sweet dreams

Posted - 11/14/2007 : 19:02:46 Okay, all the votes are in, including a lurker vote from ChocolateLady.
We have a two way tie for third. Both took down a few zombies, before they we swallowed in the crowd and the next time we saw them, they had that faraway look in their eyes and were knawing on a stump of human flesh. (Like the imagery?)
The third place finishers were:
Sludge (1,3,1) with 5 and Whipper (1.1.3) with 5.
V V V V V V V V V V V V V V V V V In second place. She made it to the Winchester, but there was not time for a drink, because the undead broke through the windows and, "Oh no!" they bit her. She's a goner.
It's Montgomery (that's me, want human flesh now) with 11 (2,2,2,3,2)
And now V V V V V V V V V V V V She's beaten me again. This time with a stick since I'm part of the undead now. V V V V V V V V V V V She made it to the Winchester. And made it through the night. Although, now apparently her roommate is a zombie who plays video games. (Not much of a difference, actually).
Let's all clap our undead hands for V V V V V V V V CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!! BaftaBabe with 12 points (3,3,2,2,2)
Please raise a pint in celebration, then choose our next movie for haiku hijinx.

Anyway, please contact me if you voted and let me know it was you.
