OK, it's not exactly about Christmas, but its got a holiday theme, so we're travelling back to 1987 for Planes, Trains & Automobiles

Note that you have two weeks before voting ends, because Monty wants to celebrate Xmas!

Abbreviated rules borrowed from here to encourage some new entrants ....

The Rules

The first line of a haiku poem has five syllables.
The second line has seven syllables.
The third, and final, line has five syllables.

The Movie Haiku Contest (MHC) is open to every member of the FWFR site.

To enter, all you have to do is think of a Haiku for the current movie, then post into the current thread. Simple as that. Also, haikus may be risque, but nothing explicit please.

Only one entry per person as per The Blevins Rule. However, you are allowed to edit your existing entry until 9pm Tuesday FWFR time. *

Voting.

If you have entered the MHC, then you have to vote. If you do not vote, you'll lose 3 points from your total, even if you are Sludge and its your birthday. This could mean the difference between the adoration and envy of your fellow Fwiffers or being the feckless butt of our jokes!

You do not have to enter an MHC to vote. Vote away. It'll be like a lurker vote!

---------------------------------

For each round, you get to vote for your three favourite haikus. The voting is as follows:

3 pts fwfr a
2 pts fwfr b
1 pt fwfr c
--------------------------------

You may vote only once
You cannot vote for yourself.
You can vote for the previous winner

You vote by sending me your votes in a PM (Private Message) HERE, to Me.

When the voting deadline ends (9pm Wednesday 02JAN FWFR time - delayed by popular demand), the votes are tallied and the top three places are announced.

The fog has now lifted on our haiku voting, and the results can be announced:

In third place, with the grand total of 10 points (3,2,2,1,1,1)we have the hula haikuer himself, ROCKFSH!!!!

In second place, with an even grander total of 11 points (3,3,2,2,1) it's the capital Em herself, MONTY!!!!!!!

And in first place () with 14 points (3,3,3,3,2), despite the best efforts of a certain lurker, it's, well, WHIPPERSNAPPER.

So I have to think of yet another film for our poetic perspirations, and I'll post soon.

Any alternative haikus or congratulations or whatever can be posted below.

By 9pm fwfr time tomorrow (Wednesday).

Just try not to all vote at the same time, you could crash the net!

When should non-lurkers vote?

I just PMed Whipper with my decision regarding my votes.

As for me and this movie... I'm sorry, but it didn't inspire me (I actually had a second one for Miracle but never got around to posting that one). So no, I'll not be submitting a Haiku for this round, I'm afraid, and just lurk until a movie that ispires me.

Well, I'm going to let Chocky change her vote, if she wants to.

Anyhow, why is she lurking? There's plenty of time for her to come up with a haiku!

How about it, Chocks?

Take Candy, Martin.
Lonely, stranded, one bed. You
get Candy mountin'.

Oh well, if I win without the lurker votes, that will be a feat in itself.

Yeh, but Chocky already voted, so what's the point?

I'm expecting some more entries after Xmas. Don't forget this is a bumper 2 week competition!

Thanksgiving. Home calls.
Page tries wings, wheels, and choo-choo.
Griffith's selling rings.
