Here's another classic that is ripe for Haiku-ing:

M*A*S*H

The Rules

A Haiku is written as follows:

The first line of a haiku poem has five syllables.
The second line of a haiku poem has seven syllables.
The third, and final, line of a haiku poem has five syllables.

The Movie Haiku Contest (MHC) is open to every member of the FWFR site.

To enter, think of a Haiku for the current movie, then post into the current thread. Haikus may be risque, but nothing explicit please.

Only one entry per person. However, you are allowed to edit your existing entry until 9pm Tuesday FWFR time.

Voting.

If you have entered the MHC, then you have to vote. If you do not vote, you'll lose 3 points from your total.

You do not have to enter an MHC to vote. Vote away.

---------------------------------

For each round, you get to vote for your three favourite MHC. The voting is as follows:

3 pts - 1st place
2 pts - 2d place
1 pt - 3d place

--------------------------------

You cannot vote for yourself.
You can vote for the previous winner

You vote by sending the currently designated Haiku Meister (me, this week) your votes in a PM (Private Message).

You may vote only once.

When the voting deadline ends (9pm Wednesday FWFR time), the votes are tallied and the top three places are announced.

*After winners are announced, the floor is open for posting of alternate Movie Haikus under that topic heading.

The winner is then allowed to make an acceptance speech (if he/she so wants to), and then must choose the movie for the next MHC contest. The winner will post the new movie as a new topic under Movie Haikus in this format:

Ho-jon brought the olives, and then just before Radar told me what I was about to say, the results of this week's Haiku were...

Tied for third place, with 6 votes each....

Hot-Lips Montgomery and Major Lemmycaution!

In second place, and 7 points, but not totally sure how this happened...

Chaplain "Dark Brown" ChocolateLady.

And the winner, who stitched us all up with their perfect M*A*S*H haiku....

With an astounding 10 points...

None other than the one, the only, Spearchucker

Beanmimo!

Take a bow, say a few words, and then let us have another movie to Haiku!

Sending a helicopter over to Chocks with my votes.

And off for a martini.

Voting is a MASH-up!

ChocolateLady Posted - 06/03/2009 : 06:12:19
Awaiting all votes,

(I haven't gotten any yet - not even from the Sky Pilot or the Pro from Dover!)
Montgomery Posted - 06/01/2009 : 18:36:13
Sutherland, Duvall,
Kellerman, Gould. Who makes the
TV show? . . . Burghoff.

Checking if Hot-Lips'
"curtains match the rug" requires
true, Hawkeye planning.

Peninsular war
Sawbones laugh away despair
Echo Vietnam
Beanmimo Posted - 05/29/2009 : 14:12:43

Humour and carnage
Suicide may be painless
War just tees them off.

On fire for Hot Lips,
Doctors' antics make Frank Burns
