Other than these, can you think of any other films where 'children' (anyone under eighteen) or animals walk a long way? The whole journey doesn't have to be on foot, but it should be at least part of it.

Not really -- he just gets flushed into the sewer and then he is there.

Cars, and I assume toasters, cannot walk. However, no, I'll keep it to children and animals. Thanks though.

Thanks for all the good suggestions. Because there seems to be quite a lot of choice, I'm going to restrict it to arduous journeys (this is what I had it mind before adding Stand by Me to bump it up, which I'll now remove) and ones where they are not accompanied by adult humans (so I'll also remove The Sound of Music, though it pains me to exclude The Road).

Watership Down
Happy Feet
Ratatouille
Lady & the Tramp
Alice in Wonderland (well, isn't the whole thing a walk through wonderland?)
Flushed Away (I think - I never saw it, but I think there's a bit of a trek there.)
