Can change my four-word self-description on PCs but can't change it on Macs. Can this be easily fixed or is the easiest way to fix it for Mac users to head to public PCs when they want to play around with this stuff?

I truly hate hate hate Macs in a way that cannot be described without use of a large mallet. And a Mac.
If I had one to hand, I'd be able to look at this, but I don't currently have any idea why this is happening- that code is about as straightforward as it gets. I don't suppose you get an error of any sort, do you?

What happens is that I change the self-description and press the Okay button. Then it reverts back to the old self-description and gives me a line at the top that says:
Invalid image file format- must be jpg or gif
No worries, though. I accepted a while ago that the site doesn't quite work on Macs as well as it does on PCs.

A Mac is my most frequent portal to fwfr, and thus a lovely thing. It's also not working very well at the moment, and thus a hateful thing. Any MacExperts out there?

Talking about PC problems, my 2 year old Sony Vaio Laptop blew the LCD screen. Lucky I took extended warranty on it. I am stuck on a little P2 laptop that I bought ($80 ) second hand for my wife for the next 2 weeks.

Don't get me started on PC problems- my mobile phone/ personal organiser (which I approve a large number of reviews on) was on the the receiving end of my arse and the pavement when I attempted a 180 over a curb in my skates whilst seven pints drunk. Upshot- sent away for two weeks and 150 less well off

I'm with you, though. Assuming I ever actually get my own computer, I would as likely buy a P.C. as, say, decide that apostrophes looked nice in plurals.
C.P. says "P.C. - backwards".

Don't get me started on the sort of people that buy Macs...

Funny I heard benj saying "Mac" stands for "backwards PC".
