Here's your chance to pay poetic tribute to the first animated feature from the workshop of Walt Disney. Released in 1937 it was awarded an Honorary Oscar - which came in the form of one traditional statuette accompanied by seven miniature versions. They're wild and crazy down there at the Academy.

So pick up that pick-axe, whistle a happy tune, eat an apple a day, and go kiss your prince/ss ...

yes, folks, it's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

DA ROOLZ
Here are the rules again.
Abbreviated rules borrowed from here to encourage some new entrants ....

The Rules

The first line of a haiku poem has five syllables.
The second line has seven syllables.
The third, and final, line has five syllables.

The Movie Haiku Contest (MHC) is open to every member of the FWFR site.

To enter, all you have to do is think of a Haiku for the current movie, then post into the current thread. Simple as that. Also, haikus may be risque, but nothing explicit please.

Only one entry per person as per The Blevins Rule. However, you are allowed to edit your existing entry until 9pm Tuesday FWFR time. *

Voting.

If you have entered the MHC, then you have to vote. If you do not vote, you'll lose 3 points from your total. This could mean the difference between the adoration and envy of your fellow Fwiffers or being the feckless butt of our jokes!

You do not have to enter an MHC to vote. Vote away. It'll be like a lurker vote!

Mirror's beauty tip:

workmen whistling.

poem as two syllables works for me. I know some Scots who add an 'i' sound in the middle and make it very nearly three syllables

Oh and by the way, I'm taking 'whistling' as three syllables (wiss-ul-ling)!

Yep, I have always pronounced it with two distinct syllables: "po-im"

I didn't go to 'the best of schools', so I could just be wrong

Welcome to the halls of verse, Rockfsh!

Remember - it just gets verse from now on

BTW - Sludge, EM, everyone:
I'd be happy to collect the votes and tally again if you like. Lemme know.

These Irish guys are funny.

They pronounce "poem" as one syllable, and "film" as two!
