Uhm -- no you're not seeing double. This USED to be The Wild One - but I've been consulted by consultants who've assured me that no one in the world except myself ever saw that film, so I am happy to offer another and it is hoped more popular choice.
Namely - Kenneth Brannagh's version of the body parts collective known as Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. With a monster performance by Robert De Niro as The Creature, and Brannagh himself as the good doc. Be afraid - but please contribute some haikus.
******************************** Abbreviated rules borrowed from here to encourage some new entrants ....
The Rules
The first line of a haiku poem has five syllables. The second line has seven syllables. The third, and final, line has five syllables.
The Movie Haiku Contest (MHC) is open to every member of the FWFR site.
To enter, all you have to do is think of a Haiku for the current movie, then post into the current thread. Simple as that. Also, haikus may be risque, but nothing explicit please.
Only one entry per person as per The Blevins Rule. However, you are allowed to edit your existing entry until 9pm Tuesday FWFR time. *
Voting.
If you have entered the MHC, then you have to vote. If you do not vote, you'll lose 3 points from your total, even if you are Sludge and its your birthday. This could mean the difference between the adoration and envy of your fellow Fwiffers or being the feckless butt of our jokes!
You do not have to enter an MHC to vote. Vote away. It'll be like a lurker vote!
---------------------------------
For each round, you get to vote for your three favourite haikus. The voting is as follows:
3 pts fwfr a 2 pts fwfr b 1 pt fwfr c --------------------------------
You may vote only once You cannot vote for yourself. You can vote for the previous winner
You vote by sending me your votes in a PM (Private Message) to me.
When the voting deadline ends (9pm Wednesday 31 OCT FWFR time), the votes are tallied and the top three places are announced. |

Well, what an amazing development! I don't think anything like this has happened since I've been contributing to this thread. We have a three-way tie for first place!!
Chocolate Lady - with a total of seven - just missed out by one [3,2,1,1]
and - with 8 points each are: Whipper [3,2,2,1] Beanmimo [1,1,3,3] and Me [2,1,3,2]
If Whipper agrees with me, I think we should let Beanmimo have the next round since he's far too often the bridesmaid around here and it would do all our hearts good to picture him sliding down the aisle in white lace tulle.
Wotcha reckon, Whip?
Meanwhile - thanks to everyone for taking part and voting so promptly ... and for what I thought was a loverly round

That's only fair - since he's the only one with two 3 point votes, which, as far as Eurovision rules are concerned, would make him the winner!
Bravo, old Bean!
