Well done- you spotted the intentional mistake. Your prize? Er... free access to fwfr for a year.

Cool, please refund the $100 I paid in advance.

Better yet: benj should offer you a $100 discount on the lifetime subscription price, so all you need to send him now is $900.

(P.S. rates are going up next year, so act fast!)

Nope -- it's De Niro -- there is a space.
That's one of those fuzzy rules -- It's one name but two words, so do you count it as a single word? I've scene it go both ways on the website.

There was a discussion about Robert De Niro's name many years ago here, and if I remember correctly it was decided that users can call it one word if they remove the space. Even though the man himself uses a space (I think?!?), there are enough instances of it being written without a space that it was decided to allow fwfrers to do the same.

I'm sure Sen is correct. In fact, I believe it extended to other actors' names with prefixes -- like DeVito. I've used that formulation ever since and have never had a refusal on those grounds.

Looks like you'll have to recall all copies of the book and go for a reprint, Yukon!

PS - Where's my copy? I've got the gravy all ready! I am going to cry in the corner - Boo-hoo!

I'm sure your correct but a person picking up the book and flicking thru it will not know this history but will just see a five word review. never mind it's done now.

So, two 5 worders have been found. Funny how one belongs to Yukon and the other to benj.

Benj and Yukie must have run afoul of a copyeditor who insisted on the birth-name spelling.

Finally got my copies on Thursday last. Very impressed with the look of the book and the overall concept. Thank you benj & Mike for your hard work.

As for the few infelicities that have been been pointed out, let's hope there will be a second printing so they can be cleaned up.

I'll be watching the best-seller lists!

I have the same guess as Randall here.

I have at times wished that last names could count as one word as the one universal exception... but such an exception would be confusing to anyone visiting for the first time. Sasha Baron Cohen is another example.

It's never been explicitly explained as such on the main site, but this IS an exception to the rule I've mentioned in the fourum before (admittedly not some time however).

Basically, if the last word of the surname alone doesn't make sense by itself (e.g. Niro, as opposed to De Niro) then the multiple surname names are accepted as one. We might combine them into one word (e.g. DeNiro) or hyphenate them or something to try and minimize confusion however.

Have the comps been sent out? I haven't seen any sign of mine yet, but sometimes things take longer to get to Brampton than they do to Toronto.
