Let's all wake up in England after a rage disease has claimed most of Its citizens.
Let's try -- one of the scariest movies I've seen in a long time -- 28 Days Later.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0289043/
The Rules
The first line of a haiku poem has five syllables. The second line of a haiku poem has seven syllables. The third, and final, line of a haiku poem has five syllables.
The Movie Haiku Contest (MHC) is open to every member of the FWFR site.
To enter, all you have to do is think of a Haiku for the current movie, then post into the current thread. Simple as that. Also, haikus may be risque, but nothing explicit please.
Only one entry per person as per The Blevins Rule. However, you are allowed to edit your existing entry until 9pm Tuesday FWFR time. *
Voting.
If you have entered the MHC, then you have to vote. If you do not vote, you'll lose 3 points from your total. This could mean the difference between the adoration and envy of your fellow Fwiffers or being the feckless butt of our jokes!
You do not have to enter an MHC to vote. Vote away. It'll be like a lurker vote!
---------------------------------
For each round, you get to vote for your three favourite MHC. The voting is as follows:
3 pts Stalean 2 pts Conan 1 pt Benj (Gotta get a jab in here at Benj on account he confessed that haikus aren't his thing. Stay tuned for "movie limericks.")
not
1) AC 2) GHcool 3) thefoxboy
As I will not know if AC gets 1 vote or AC is your favourite for 3 votes.
--------------------------------
You cannot vote for yourself. You can vote for the previous winner
You vote by sending the currently designated Haiku Meister your votes in a PM (Private Message).
You may vote only once.
When the voting deadline ends (9pm Wednesday FWFR time), the votes are tallied and the top three places are announced.
*After winners are announced, the floor is open for posting of alternate Movie Haikus under that topic heading.
The winner then gets to make an acceptance speech, and choose the movie for the next MHC contest. The winner will post the new movie as a new topic under Movie Haikus in this format:
Movie Haiku Contest: Movie Title
(Acknowledgement: FWTO after which these rules are modeled.)
Send votes to me by, what, next Wednesday?
Good luck, and stay away from any mean looking chimpanzees.
EM :)

Nothing new to see Mindless Mancs rampage through town It IS grim up North
Sure this will go over most heads and will probably just insult the remainder (although possibly not as much as the avatar ).
I should note that I spent six great years in Manchester, the setting for the film, I love the city, love the people, but friday night in town can be pretty scary! |

Sorry for the delay. I typed out a fun tribute to the winners early this morning. Then when I hit "Post New Reply" it said there was a problem with my posting and when I hit the "Fix the Problem" button, or whatever it says, it gave me a blank Message area. BLANK? BLANK? Where or where were my cordial words of congratulations? My carefully worded winner listing? Gone, gone, gone. Forever gone. So, I had to get to work and now have the time to try, best as I can, to reconstruct my earlier message.
Here goes.
These people won. This person won it all.
Just kidding.
Okay, it has been a bloody mess, all started by animal activists. But, when all the running and hiding and writing of haikus was over, there were three somewhat survivors.
After having learned to exist among the rage zombies, she got bit and had to be offed by her former partner.
With 7 points. And about 30 minutes of film time. It's me, Monty. (2,1,3,1).
and some
s later. We thought he would survive, until he looked up into the sky and the blood of a rage victim dropped into his eye. Then he went off and had to be killed. With 8 points and about an hour of film time -- it's Rockfsh (2,2,1,3)
and
s later, plus a bunch of misguided Marines. She made it through all the way, alive and living off in the country, only to be completely ignored in the sequel. With a staggering 12 points, it's
Oh sorry. Had to kill that last rage zombie.
it's . . .
Oops! Sorry more dead bodies.
it's . . .
Wildheartlivie. (3,3,3,3)I guess not accepting less than a 3 is a good way to win. Must remember that for next round of haiku.
Congratulations again Wild. Go wild choosing a new haiku movie.

Wow, I'm thrilled. I must admit, my haiku skills are remiss in a lot of areas. "Days turn into weeks" was one of those rare flashes of something that I rarely have. Be back in a bit with a new haiku target. |
