Fly with this one:

Papillon (1973)

The Rules

A Haiku is written as follows:

The first line of a haiku poem has five syllables.
The second line of a haiku poem has seven syllables.
The third, and final, line of a haiku poem has five syllables.

The Movie Haiku Contest (MHC) is open to every member of the FWFR site.

To enter, think of a Haiku for the current movie, then post into the current thread. Haikus may be risque, but nothing really fucking explicit please.

Only one entry per person. However, you are allowed to edit your existing entry until 9pm Tuesday FWFR time.

Voting.

If you have entered the MHC, then you have to vote. If you do not vote, you'll lose 3 points from your total.

You do not have to enter an MHC to vote. Vote away.

---------------------------------

For each round, you get to vote for your three favorite MHC. The voting is as follows:

3 pts - 1st place
2 pts - 2d place
1 pt - 3d place

--------------------------------

You cannot vote for yourself; that's lame. No: that's sad.
You can vote for the previous winner. That's obvious.

You vote by sending the currently designated Haiku Meister (me, this week) your votes in a PM (Private Message).

You may vote only once. Wait: you can vote as much as you want, but no one's going to count the votes after the first one, so why do you want to make this difficult for yourself?

When the voting deadline ends (9pm Wednesday FWFR time), I tally the votes (for this week only) and announce the top three vote-getters (also known as "winners").

*After the announcement of winners, you can post alternate Movie Haikus under the topic heading that just concluded (these are the haikus that were equally brilliant, but not allowed because of that damned "one man, one entry" rule. Next thing you know, they won't let us vote for ourselves! Damn! Already in place!

The winner may then make an acceptance speech (if he/she so desires), and then must choose the movie for the next MHC contest. The winner will post the new movie as a new topic under Movie Haikus in this format:

Movie Haiku Contest # - Movie Title

or I'll cut 'yer head off!
