While hosting her variety television show, Carol Burnett would often perform her Tarzan yell at the request of guests.

Take one tarpit. Add a Greek [aka Macedonian] warrior. Mix together. Result = Apeman.

Bet you didn't think I'd be entering this one. Well, you were wrong. According to a site I found:

quote:
These 2.2" x 3.1" cards were issued in Belgium by Coop Chocolate in the late 1940s. They are from a large set of picture cards showing scenes from the Tarzan movies starring Johnny Weismuller (Tarzan), Brenda Joyce (Jane) and Cheetah the monkey (as himself). The front of the card shows a photographic type image of Tarzan and Jane, while the back of the card is blank. The cards, printed on thin stock, were given as a free premium with the purchase of chocolate.

I bet you knew that Jane in Johnny Weissmuller Tarzan's arms is none other than Maureen O'Sullivan, mom of Mia Farrow!!

Nice research! BUT HOWEVER AHEM ...
That kneeling person next to the chimp better not be Jane! It's Johnny Sheffield as Boy. Shot is from 1945 version: Tarzan and the Amazons.

Sorry, I was just quoting from the website - that's not the picture I chose to use as my avatar.

(There were so many, I just looked for one that had "Chocolat" as prominent as possible.)

Ah, but did you know that Tarzan is also the title of a (rather saucy) Japanese magazine?

I couldn't help admiring the curves of this cover girl. Whether Tarzan the jungle fellow would approve I have no idea.

Who knew Tarzan would go so ape over cheese. Good thing he carries that giant cheese slicer around with him.

Maybe he's having a vine and cheese party.

www.fwiffer.com is ready.

Look for results late this week. I'll do my best but I've been swept up in swine fever. Responding to it, not getting it.
