Meet "Unexpected Visit." I don't know why she is named that, but perhaps the person who raised her thought her mama hadn't gotten pregnant. That happens sometimes--the vet tells you they are open and you notice they are getting awfully fat and then one day you walk out and see an extra set of legs.

Anyhow, I persuaded a friend to go with me to a sale. I thought that friend needed a mare like this. I bid on the mare and thought I hadn't gotten her but the sale guys came over when the bidding was done and said she was mine...that was unexpected.

Then I turned to my friend and offered to let her pay for half the horse...that was unexpected. She agreed...that was unexpected. We took the mare home and surprised her husband...unexpected. I gave my half to them and let them have the foal the mare was carrying...unexpected. I got the next foal by their stallion out of the mare and then I bought the filly the mare had at their production sale after that...unexpected.
