Whaddya mean it's only September. I've seen those sneaky decorations pretending it's December on Main Street.
So I've turned to a tuneful classic that's packed with post-war escapist talent. We've got George Clooney's singing Auntie Rosemary, the dancing gams of Vera-Ellen, and, wooing them Der Bingle himself backed up with the yuks of Danny Master of Timing Kaye. Music by that Berlin guy, directed by inspired craftsman Michael Curtiz, and written with the wit of Krasna and Panama.
Oh, yeah, and the brief appearance of a dancing extra called Bob Fosse.
It could only be White Christmas.
May your days be merry and bright indeed!
===========================================
Abbreviated rules
The first line of a haiku poem has five syllables. The second line has seven syllables. The third, and final, line has five syllables.
The Movie Haiku Contest (MHC) is open to every member of the FWFR site. Give it a try if you never have--it's SO EASY!
To enter, all you have to do is think of a Haiku for the current movie, then post into the current thread. (Hint: read it out loud, ticking off the syllables with your fingers as you do so.)
Haikus may be risque, but not over the top, please, nor other exotic positions that would de-Classify this Classiest of contests.
Only one entry per person. However, you may edit your existing entry until 9pm Tuesday FWFR time.
Voting
If you have entered the MHC, then you have to vote. It's required. If you enter but do not vote, you get a whopping 3 point penalty, and bye-bye championship.
You do not have to enter an MHC to vote. Vote away. It'll be just like a lurker vote! And We Heart Lurkers.
---------------------------------
For each round, you get to vote for your three favourite haikus. The voting is as follows:
3 pts fwfr a 2 pts fwfr b 1 pt fwfr c --------------------------------
You may vote only once. You may not vote for yourself.
You vote by sending me your votes in a PM (Private Message) here. Vote deadline is Wed 22 Sept 9:00 AM fwfr time. Thanks for entering!

Aw, thanks guys! Of course, everyone knows that the song used for the title of this film wasn't written for this film, but actually, for another one - which is one of my favorites - Holiday Inn.
Unfortunately, not enough people know that one for us to write Haikus about it (despite it having one of the very best Fred Astaire dance scenes ever), so I'll think of something very soon and start the 223rd contest.
