Hatshepsut - translated as Foremost of Noble Ladies - lived from 1508–1458 BC and was the fifth pharaoh of the eighteenth dynasty of Ancient Egypt. She is generally regarded by Egyptologists as one of the most successful pharaohs, reigning longer than any other woman of an indigenous Egyptian dynasty.
There is a well-preserved fresco of her wedding to her consort Thutmose II. She was universally known as The Pharaoh, or King of Egypt, and often depicted with a beard.

The Royal Wedding was one of the best reasons I can think of to be living in singapore instead of Britain, although even here I couldn't fully get away from it 
Reading my friends' facebook updates from home during april, it did feel as though i was the only englishman in the world that didn't follow it gushingly.
Even my (dutch) wife watched it - screened live at Singapore's "Dutch Club"  |

Who'd have thought that the undoubted star of the recent royal wedding in London would be the bride's sister?
Pippa Middleton, for it is she, has a Facebook page devoted to her (rather splendid) arse and has been a magnet for photographers since the big event.
Here she can be seen stooping to assist with Kate's dress and dancing, sans blouse, with a chinless wonder at the late-night wedding party.
Here's to the chief bridesmaid. |

I saw about five minutes of it before going outside and lighting up the barbecue. My next door neighbour spent the entire day rebuilding his racing-pigeon loft.
