Yes, Clint Eastwood was the oldest. The youngest was Norman Taurog for the film Skippy. Taurog's win came at the ageo fo 32 years (and 260 days) in the 1930/31 Academy Awards. The youngest best director nominee was John Singleton for Boyz N the Hood at 24 years (and 44 days), while the oldest best director nominee was John Huston at 79 years (and 184 days) for Prizzi's Honor.

Correct! Frank Capra was originally going to be a biochemist, but due to WWI ending couldn't find a job. Years later he turns up directing films, and the rest is history.

I had to check this one. At first I thought it was from The Man Who Came To Dinner but when I checked it wasn't there. From that I got to a couple other dinner movies and ended up with:
1) Dinner at Eight
2) The actress who said it was Marie Dressler playing Carlotta Vance
3) She says it to Jean Harlow playing the part of Kitty
And for extra credit, the reference is that Jean Harlow read in a book (yes, she read a book!) that machines were eventually going to take over all professions, and that's what Carlotta's reply to that statement was.
Very funny!
That mean I'm next?
