On the topic of film title correction...

I was perusing my own accolades, taking a look at the films in "It's The End of The World As We Know It" because I was curious if anyone was making any progress on it. I noticed on of the films was Salute of the Jugger. I started wondering "what the bleep is Salute of the Jugger??? I've never heard of that film, I've never seen it, and I certainly didn't put it in my accolade!" I clicked on it, and there was a review by me, and it looked familiar! That was when I started putting the pieces together. I looked up the film on imdb, and confirmed that it is indeed The Blood of Heroes, under a different name. Obviously benj's updated the title at some point. I'm not entirely sure why since I've only known it as The Blood of Heroes, but it doesn't matter much. A rose by any other name would smell as sweet (although this movie's a bit of a stinker).

Why am I telling you all this? No real reason. I just like talking about myself and my accolades.

I don't think Benj's choice between alternative titles is based on the ones by which you happen to know films.

His rule is that he uses the title from the UK release (which in this case is The Blood of Heroes). He's been known to make exceptions when a film is overwhelmingly known by a title other than the UK release. I didn't mean to personalize it so much, what I meant was "as far as I know most people (who've actually heard of it) know this film as Blood of Heroes."

I think Salute of the Jugger is a lot more interesting, anyway! I may not have a clue what it means, but who cares?

How come you're sure that that was the U.K. title too?

Well I can't honestly say I'm sure about anything. But it's listed on imdb as The Blood of Heroes, and there isn't an alternate title that's identified as (UK). In fact, it says that Salute of the Jugger is the American title.

I don't always go with imdb's idea of what the UK or International title is, especially not when I know for certain that it's wrong. My brother was/ is (but keeps it quiet these days) a big Rutger fan and I remember us getting 'Salute of the Jugger' out from the local video shop many years ago.

Cast Away

Lilin Mac: Tom has a ball (9 votes)
Ken: Hanks has a ball (5 votes)

Same review, no? Ken was first, I think.

Batty has two very similar reviews for Ghost.

"Demi, Swayze make Whoopi" has 10 votes (brilliant review, I might add)
"Swayze, Demi making Whoopi" has 4 votes.

The fact it's the same reviewer makes this a bit of a grey area, IMO.

I seriously doubt that Batty intended to have both, but I expect he will read this thread soon and answer for himself.

I've never had this happen (or at least never noticed it before) but today I see that Queenofcats had a review for 4 Weddings and Funeral identical to mine. Since she had another review for the same movie approved today as well perhaps she won't mind giving up the other? (I'm assuming "she" given the name "Queen")
