Can anyone think of any more additions for this accolade? Prequels are allowed but not reboots (nor other films which are just different adaptations of the same source material). Thanks.

The brilliant The Odd Couple (68) & the crappy The Odd Couple II (98).

Hhmmm, shall I count Carry On Emmannuelle and Carry On Columbus?

I've alerted Conan!

Yikes, I didn't realise this had been on the cards since at least 2004!

I was at university then so I saw no television and rarely went to the cinema, and the Internet was much less all-pervasive than it is now.

Thanks!

I made the above link display 100 films, which I thought would be plenty. Looks like I'll have to edit it at this rate.

Dr. Mabuse the Gambler (1922), The Testament of Dr. Mabuse (1933) and The 1,000 Eyes of Dr. Mabuse (1960) all directed by Fritz Lang.

Yep, the character has a different name, but given Harry Caul's paranoia it wouldn't be out of character for him to have changed it in the years following The Conversation. Your call- I won't be offended if you give this one a miss

Well, I'll leave it out then since there is no shortage of official ones. Thanks for all your help.

Are these definitely part of the same story? (I've never seen either, so please no spoilers.) Gene Hackman plays different characters, for example.

I suspect this may grow to be quite a sizeable accolade, especially given the recent trend for reviving franchises of or introducing late sequels to movies from the 80s/90s.

Personally, I blame Take That and their reformation in recent years.

Quite. I'd increase the number of years but there are some quite iconic examples about a decade apart.

I've got to leave these out, as Rumour Has It is more about/linked to The Graduate than a sequel.
