I have about a hundred of those waiting Benj, perhaps your best approach would just be to prioritise mine!

Doing my normal 'never quite sure where I should ask what' approach, and repeating myself ...
Is the backlog dealt with chronologically or alphabetically? It's just that I noticed my latest non-new films that had been checked where all at the top of the alphabet, while I still have older outstanding reviews that start with later letters. Does this make any sort of sense to anyone at all?

Benj has a special recipe of herbs and spices that determines the order in which reviews are processed.
Generally these days (if I understand correctly) he does the new films first, then works through the rest in the order they were submitted.

So uh, for all these reviews you have one guy? Seems like a large task. Said guy must have either more money then god and can just sit around all day sifting threw these, is un-employed, or requires far less sleep than most of the rest of the world...
Look either way, I would hope never to make a guy like that mad at me, as anyone with as much dedication as is required for this site, would make a bad bad BAD enemy.
So, with that I will humbly retreat into the ether, and just leave you with these parting words.
thanks.

Is it just me or is Benj approving reviews in a particularly unchronological order at the moment? My oldest pending review (the uncontroversial "Gibson's original Christian project" for The Bounty) has now been at the top of my list for many weeks. It's no big deal, but I am puzzled.

I haven't had one sit around for that long for quite a while. The approval process definitely isn't purely chronological now, it's based at least partly on clumping reviews in batches to make it more efficient and consistent. My pending list spends most of the time empty now, but I have a pretty low submission rate.

I've found the films which aren't currently recieving many reviews are the ones that are spending longer on my pending list. Whatever method Benj is using now, it seems to be working, my pending list shrunk by around a third last week.

I wish we could see a date of submission next to our review(s). I know I've had some in there for weeks now, also. Not complaining, mind you, just curious.

My new movie reviews are being added before my other movie reviews. My oine review at the top of the list just sits there. Makes a person want to start adding tons of new movies.

I haven't added anything for about a week. My pending pile is pretty much static at 50ish. Most of these are reviews done to complete accolades!

Yes, I totally agree about this. It would be interesting. I also think that it would be very helpful in general to record the submission date, rather than the approval date.

I haven't had anything approved for almost a week but I have around 40 pending. I've noticed that the ones that were approved most recently were for movies it seemed several others had reviews for as well. Maybe the ones I have pending are not movies that anyone else is currently reviewing. I can't say Benj hasn't looked at my list at all though because although I haven't had anything approved in nearly a week I do have a couple of rejections. The one currently at the top of my pending pile has been there for 3 weeks now. Not complaining though, just passing along info.

Hmmmmmm. I wonder. You might be onto something. Maybe movies that the majority of the people are reviewing get through first. makes sense. building up reviews need to be emptyed. Maybe this calls for a Movie of the week we need everyone to review. thoughts?

Nah, I don't like reviewing a specified film. That's why I don't pursue accolades.
