If you could tell me what the something and the blah blah is, it might make this a little easier to figure out

I've gotten error messages only when I tried uploading images that are too big. Maybe it's a size thing.
I don't care what some people say, when posting images to the fwfr, SIZE MATTERS!

Are you trying to upload an image format other than jpg or gif? It's quite possible you're trying to upload some nutty Mac-only image format.

Yeah I know that was real specific....
It does say "invalid file format must be gif or jpg" when I try to add a photo to my details.
I will have to try again on a trophy and see what that says. That's when the "blah, blah, something or other can't" thing happens.
Tell me if I'm just being stupid but here's what I'm doing. I find an image on the internet that is a jpg. I download it by dragging it onto a folder on my mac. I make sure it is saved as "something.jpg" and then I go to where you add a picture and it gives me the "browse" thing - I hit that and then it looks through all my images. I'm making sure it isn't too big. Then if I click on the image I want it says "open" on my computer. I click on open and it appears in the little space on fwfr. I click on "okay", then it says "must be gif or jpg". Is it hopeless?
I do notice that when I copy images to my computer from the internet mac seems to assign them bizarre numbers and not list them as jpg's even though that is what they were originally.

Make sure the name of the file -- when you try to upload -- has a jpg or gif extension.

This is totally no big deal, but ...
Was wondering whether a lack of picture makes it impossible to change my self-description. Had an idea for four words I thought was funny at the time (though really immature in retrospect) and, uh, still want to do it. But when I change the words and hit "okay," the message tells me I need a jpg or gif or something or other and my self-description reverts back to the old one. Tried hitting other buttons with the new self-description in the box, but the old one keeps coming back. (I'm a mac user, too.)
Again, no big deal. Still making head lines of varying levels of grooviness.

I noticed the same thing the other day--I tried to change my 4 word description and it wouldn't let me. I love my Mac, but in this forum it seems a handicap. When I try to upload pictures I still get the same error messg. even though the picture is clearly a jpg extension and the computer says it is, I got it off the internet as a jpg, but still...no dice. I either get the "must be a jpg or giff" message or I get one stating the file is too big. This also very annoying because my computer says the file is small enough.

Funny. I changed my four-word description about a week ago and did not encounter a problem. some of our less stable colleagues change theirs almost on a daily basis.
