Noticed that about 4 rounds ago, but said nothing... that in mind...

Dead Eats (Referencing the Alton Brown show/thingy...)

Can we please bring it back to movie references, people?

I think it's interesting this way. Once you name an actor. YOu throw out a half dozen other actors because they are in the same movie and then your just using that movie over and over again. Its like beating a dead horse. Im glad we got Kevin Bacon out of the way early in its conception. At least we are using our minds. Anyways.....It's not up to us to direct who is used next. The winner gets that honor. If you start winning then you can choose your director, actor, writer. etc...

Edit: My Bad. It seems we havent done Kevin Bacon yet. (Hint hint)

Granted, I never win, but we are here to evaluate the death of those film stars that went/go before us.... so why the generic references that the thread has evolved into?(not that it always happens, by the way)

Like I'm so fond of saying... why?
How difficult is it to say 'hey, jennifer aniston dies this week?'

Hint hint

Wasn't gonna say anything, and it's certainly the winner's prerogative to choose, but yeah, these generic categories are boring. I prefer entertainers -- actors, singers, writers -- because 1) it's fun to desecrate famous people, and 2) it gives us a nice list of set titles to choose from. You get more interesting entries that way. Generic categories are fun for a curveball, but I really don't like them as the rule.

In any case, picking actors is easier on me, as these games do dictate my movie viewing for the week. That part of the game is forcing me to be more creative than coming up with an actual entry.

These games are supposed to be a challenge, and I think it goes against the very nature of that to come up with more generic topics just because, otherwise, the whole thing ends up being too hard. These games have started turning into "Come up with morbid puns relating to [insert random topic of choice]." If that is a game people feel like playing, then, by all means, someone should start it in the relevant section of the forums. But please, leave these games be. After all, you don't just start playing Taboo halfway through Monopoly just because you are bored of the latter.

This is an interesting discussion, and there are clearly some strong feelings on the matter...

But might I suggest moving the debate to a new thread, and letting this round play out without further distraction regardless of anybody's opinion of the topic?

I seem to have offended numerous participants this week. I assumed by my examples that, if you chose cooking-related instead of "Celebrity Chefs," you knew the entries for cooking were film related (e.g. "Sleeping with the quiches" relates to "Sleeping with the fishes" from "The Godfather," etc.). "Celebrity Chefs" is just as valid as these former victims: Hanna-Barbera Cartoons, Vegetables, or FWFR'ers. I gave the choice because, inevitably, someone submits an entry totally unrelated to the victim's name or films/works.

Nowhere in the rules does it mention that you have to pick an actor/actress. This is thefoxboy's game, and he chose "Nursery Rhymes" as his entry once. I would suggest, as Wheelz has already mentioned, if you are dissatisfied, all gripes should be addressed to the creator of FWTO and not hijack this week's thread.

Edit: Here is a link for food-related films that I couldn't find when I chose this topic, which would have clarified the selection.

May I suggest the movie 'Super Size Me'?

Yes yes....We can all make a movie title into a morbid pun. Gets tiring after awhile. Freshen up your mind with different topics. Surely you can find a movie, actor, director that best fits the topic.

Vegetables - Children Under The Corn
Nursery Rhymes - Slashed The Girls

etc.

I didn't mean to hijack the proceedings... just a return to normalcy would be nice. It doesn't matter what the FWTO has to offer, I'll still submit, and until I manage a win I have no say over the submissions.

Simply put, I'm just here to have fun...

See y'all
