I seem to remember that when it was in production, I heard rumors that the title was actually going to be Aliens 2 (note the plural). I think that would have been very creative and clever.

This has been going around the Internet for a while, but it's not true that there has been any such study. Yes, we can identify the above words, but that is not the same as not noticing that the letters are in the wrong order.
