After listening to the Beastie Boys 'Check Your Head' CD and watching 'Dumb and Dumber' last night, I came to the realization that these things came out 15 years ago...

Being a man of 32 years, I now feel... what's the word?

Old.

So let's get nostalgic for things and music and movies and stuff that happened barely ten years ago...

Ladies and gentlemen, I present:
The 1990's

What says the '90's to me? Madonna and Rolling Stone Magazine. Here's a cover from 1991.

Now we have the crazy character of the Mad Hatter. But in the past we had Sweeny Todd, Jack Sparrow, and Willy Wonka to name a few. To think Johnny Depp started it all with this character who came out in 1990.

I give you Edward Scissorhands.

Combining two seminal cultural phenomena of the 1990s: The Worldwide Web and self-promotion.

The DVD format for home video and CD-ROM use in home computers gained widespread popularity in the 1990s... I'm not sure exactly when their cheese cutting properties were discovered.

Rampant sheep cloning threatens the world, almost single-handedly destroying the Catholic Church. Sheep are seen throughout the Nineties cavorting with each other, as if boldly declaring "We don't need no stinking Rams to procreate. Adam and Steve? What about Evve and Evve?!?!" with few even daring to imagine that sheep could be so impliedly clever, with the implied double "v" thing looking like a "w" and therefore impliedly invoking their "ewe-ness". Some people take to staring at sheep's wool like others stare at clouds and discern images in the downy fluff. A girl in Peru believes she sees the likeness of Eunice Kennedy, thereby confirming the implied outbreak of "ewe-ness consciousness" in South America. The Vatican is late to address the impliedly creeping heresy. Whole heards are suspected of questioning their shepherds, global panic was on the brink!

Then people calmed down when nothing happened. Here's to Dolly, who started it all.
