i was unaware this was much of an issue until i watched "the negotiator"; some research on the interweb reveals that this is quite the sore point among fans of the film, with many adamant he couldn't possibly die and others just as sure he's slumped over on the horse slowly bleeding to death. Apparently the novel's ending is equally vague. Curious to know what you think.
does Shane die at the end?
