Enlightenment in the form of age-old wisdom; otherwise, keep that nasty ass off of my sofa!

(I have two harrowing stories that go along with this, but they are not for the squeemish.)

Take mine and use this www.fwiffer.com

And beware of "Free Lunch" offers, there's no such thing.

While Baci chocolates have little notes about love in them, Dove chocolates have pieces of very good advice inside their wrappers.

Here's one I like in particular.

"Let your soul be stirred by chocolate"

I love these old cigarette ads that claim the health benefits of smoking - in this one Physicians agree - Lucky's cause less irritation (or what I call throat cancer).

Pauline Esther ("Popo") Friedman and Esther Pauline ("Eppie") Friedman, aka "Dear Abby" and "Anne Landers" were identical twin sisters who each wrote famous advice columns.

Esther passed away in 2002 and Pauline has alzheimers and is in a nursing home. Pauline's daughter Jeanne Philips publicly took over writing Dear Abby a few years ago, although she had served as her mother's ghost writer for quite some time, apparently.

Esther's daughter Margo Howard (formerly married to actor Ken Howard) is also an advice columnist, but the cousins have carried their mothers' animosity onward. Jeanne Phillips made conciliatory gestures that Margo Howard distrusted.

Esther and Pauline used to be very close, while growing up in Sioux City Iowa. They encountered some prejudice because they were Jewish. When they married their husbands, they had a double wedding.

Yet, the sisters' relationship became strained when they became advice columnists. It seems that "Anne Landers" resented "Dear Abby," for following her into the business.

Their styles differed quite a bit. Anne seemed more serious, whereas Abby was more flippant. Both had enormous influence on American culture. Each did tremendous public service by influencing Americans to become more tolerant of each other and towards minorities. They promoted more commonsense attitudes towards sexuality.

I photoshopped this avatar; it is unlikely the two would have been formally photographed together at the apex of their careers.

Here's some sage advice for school children: in case of nuclear attack, hide under your desk. Yeah, "duck and cover" will save you from the devasting air blast, intense thermal energy and lingering radiation. The slogan should actually be, "Get under your desk, roll into a ball, and kiss your ass goodbye."
