Here in the US we are in the midst of the longest ever Presidential campaign and we are filled with slogans that turn to mush in our minds - post your avatar that depicts a political slogan.

This year as much as ever Change is in the air - I remember this really old guy at a Republican convention one year saying, If you elect the Democrats, all you'll have left is Change in your pockets".

Now both candidates want change, but some change is good some is bad, but everyone agrees it's time for a change in America!

According to the urban legend, Monica Lewinsky came up with the best political slogan: "I'm voting Republican. The Democrats left a bad taste in my mouth."

"Tippecanoe and Tyler too" was a very popular and influential campaign song of the colorful Log Cabin Campaign in the 1840 United States presidential election. Its lyrics sung the praises of Whig candidates William Henry Harrison (the "hero of Tippecanoe") and John Tyler, while denigrating incumbent Democrat Martin Van Buren.

Today, however, the slogan Tippecanoe and Tyler too is better remembered than the song itself serving as a staple of American schoolbook history.

This contest is so educational.

"Free Soil, Free Labor, Free Speech, Free Men, and Fremont" Refers to the anti-slavery views of the Republican Party and John C. Fremont

>

Lincoln may have freed the slaves, but this guy ran for president in 1856 AND had abolitionism in his slogan!

Having just got back from visiting the American Museum near Bath I've come up with a U.S. slogan too.

Herbert Hoover had the bright idea of running with the slogan, "a chicken in every pot".

It's a good excuse to use one of Gary Larson's Far Side cartoons, which is fine by me.

Not many realize that there was a really significant pair running for the highest US office in 2004 against Kerry/Edwards and Bush/Cheney. Yes!!

Snoop Dogg and Hugh Hefner ran as well, on the Playboy ticket. Their slogan was "Leave No Ho Behind."

Hey guys. It has been a while. Thought this would be a good one, especially that this was a speech done by Dwight Schrute in a very funny episode of the Office.

Remember "Worker's Unite"
