It seems just like yesterday -- waitaminute -- it WAS yesterday. All our yesterdays. We just didn't know it.

Delve for an avatar through the mists of unrecorded time. Screen goes wavy, blurry, that you-know music ...

The one on the left (with the green) is Perudyptes devriesi and the one on the right is Icadyptes salasi, both existed about 40 million years ago in what's now known as Peru. The other one (shown for scale) is a Humboldt Penguin - the only penguin species currently found in Peru.

Icadyptes salasi is roughly human-sized.

The mystery surrounding the construction of Stonehenge solved at last.

This may be the theory favoured by creationists.

I tried to change my avatar to join this contest, but it wouldn't work. I'll just put the picture into the gallary and hope for the best - okay?

I just voted.

I would have voted earlier but I thought we'd lost pre-history for ever.
